Slice of Life--New Camera

I got a new camera this past week and I am now obsessed with capturing all the angles and moments of Mia and our lives in crisper and cleaner images. I am amazed at how little I remember about how to work an SLR, even though I took tons of classes in high school and early college. There are so many little buttons and knobs! What I do remember is how with a camera in your hands you tend to look at the world around you differently. There is a great shot hiding somewhere around you just have to find it. It's been fun to rediscover that feeling.
The auto mode on the new Nikon is giving me some really great shots. I also am hoping to work my way through the manual to really figure out what all the settings mean and do. I might even be tempted to join Photo Fridays! You can see all the glorious tinkering on my Flickr stream, but you'll have to be a friend to see all the family photos!

Nice camera (I think -- I know nothing about cameras, but it seems nice). I am always in awe of those who can dig deep into cameras and get amazing shots. I point, I click, I share ... that's about it.

Oooh, lucky you with the new camera! Have fun learning how to manipulate all the bells and whistles. I'm still trying to figure out my not-so-new-anymore one.

New camera's are the greatest! I have the good fortune to be able to use my husband's camera that was a Father's Day gift a few years ago from our children. A Canon Rebel, which I usually use auto mode for shots. I would love to take some classes to learn more about all the capabilities.

SLR's are addicting, especially now they are all digital!!!!

No rolls of film!
